Our prices are published as ranges, because the cost of an engagement depends on its real scope. Hourly consulting runs $175 to $350 an hour, projects $3,500 to $25,000 and monthly retainers $2,500 to $12,000 a month. The exact amount is always set in writing in a proposal, before work begins.
These ranges are the same as our parent brand's; the full price list is on the BusinessConsulting.ca pricing page.

What moves the price
The price depends mainly on four factors, which we explain in every proposal.
- Scope. A diagnosis of a single offer costs less than a growth strategy covering several services and several markets.
- Writing. An engagement that calls for French and English copy written from scratch takes longer than revising existing copy.
- The state of your data. Well-organised numbers cut analysis time; scattered data stretches it.
- Pace of execution. A monthly retainer that includes campaign management and content production sits higher in the range than advisory support alone.
An example to help you choose the format
The right format depends on who does the work. Take three situations.
- You have a team, but lack direction. A few hours of consulting a month may be enough. At $250 an hour, four hours a month comes to $1,000, plus GST and QST.
- You have a specific problem to fix. A defined-scope project, such as a new French-first website, is paid in stages and ends on delivery.
- You want to hand off execution. A monthly retainer covers the strategy and the day-to-day work: content, local search, campaigns.
A simple calculation helps you decide. If a $3,000 monthly retainer has to pay for itself and each new customer leaves you $600 of margin, you need about five extra customers a month to break even. If that number seems out of reach, start with a smaller project.
What every proposal puts in writing
To avoid surprises, every proposal sets out in writing:
- the scope of work and the deliverables, in French;
- the price, the payment schedule, GST and QST;
- ownership of the domain, advertising accounts, content and data;
- the term, notice period and end-of-engagement conditions;
- any external costs, such as advertising budgets, and how they are paid.
If something isn't in the proposal, ask before you sign. Our FAQ answers the most common questions about contracts and ownership.
Compare it with the cost of doing nothing
The price of an engagement is best judged against the cost of inaction. If your site gets 800 visits a month and converts 1% of visitors, it generates 8 enquiries. At 2%, it would generate 16. If half of those enquiries become customers at $500 of margin, every month without a fix costs you about $2,000 of margin (8 more enquiries × 50% × $500).
That calculation promises nothing, but it gives you an order of magnitude to compare with the price of a project. Redo it with your own numbers before you decide.
Paying in stages
Projects are paid in milestones, as the BusinessConsulting.ca pricing describes, so you are never paying far ahead of the work delivered. The milestones and amounts for your project are listed in the proposal, alongside the deliverable each payment corresponds to.
How to choose
If you're unsure, start small. A consulting session or a defined-scope diagnosis lets you judge how we work before committing to a monthly retainer. You can also look at the results from our HVAC work to see what the method has produced elsewhere, then reach us through the Contact page.
Frequently asked questions
Is the initial consultation really free?
Yes. The initial 30-minute consultation is free, with no obligation. It is there to understand your situation and see whether a working format fits.
Is there a long-term contract?
We work with no long-term lock-in. The term, end-of-engagement conditions and notice period are written clearly into your proposal before we start.
Which taxes apply?
Prices are in Canadian dollars. For a Québec client, budget for the price plus 5% GST and 9.975% QST.
Is the advertising budget included?
No. The budget paid to Google, Meta or another platform is separate from our fees. How it is paid, like any other external cost, is set out in writing in the proposal.
What is the Growth Partner Program?
It is a partnership built on performance: Ali puts in time at the start, and his pay depends on results you can measure. Partnerships are limited and terms are set case by case.
