MontrealBusiness.ca advises owners of small and mid-sized businesses who want more customers in Montréal without wasting budget or time. Our approach comes down to three ideas: a costed strategy before any spending, marketing conceived in Québec French from the very first line, and a local presence that reflects the real city, borough by borough.
We don't sell ready-made recipes. We look at your margins, your offer and how customers find you, then build a plan with you that your team can follow.
Why French first is a business decision
In Montréal, writing in French first isn't a translation detail: it is the language in which most of your customers search, compare and decide. A business that thinks its message through in English and translates it afterwards is quickly spotted, and it often loses the trust it was trying to earn.
It is also a matter of rules. Since June 1, 2025, according to the Office québécois de la langue française, signage visible from outside that shows a name or trademark in another language must come with French terms that clearly predominate. Éducaloi also notes that a business with a Québec address must offer a French version of its website. These summaries are current as of October 2026; always confirm your own situation with the OQLF.
We are neither lawyers nor compliance auditors. Our role is to design marketing where French naturally leads, and to point you to the official sources to consult. Our guide on the Charter and your marketing sums up the practical points.
What we do for Montréal businesses
We offer four services, which can be taken separately or combined depending on your stage of growth. The Services page helps you choose.
- Growth strategy and action plan: a diagnosis of your offer, prices and channels, followed by a 90-day plan.
- French-first marketing: your messages, ads and posts conceived in local French, with an English version when it is useful.
- Local search in Montréal: your Google listing, service pages and reviews organised around the areas you serve.
- French-first website: a site that explains your offer clearly and leads to a call, a text or an email.
A worked example you can check
Before spending a dollar on marketing, you need to know what a customer is worth. Take a service business whose average sale is $1,200 with a 40% gross margin. Each new customer therefore brings in about $480 of margin.
A $3,500 strategy project pays for itself with roughly eight extra customers ($3,500 ÷ $480 ≈ 7.3). If those customers come back twice a year, the arithmetic becomes far more favourable. Run this calculation with your own numbers: if it doesn't hold up, no campaign will rescue it, and that is where we start.
Proof: results from our HVAC work
Our published results are results from our HVAC work with heating and cooling companies. They don't come from Montréal, but they show what a disciplined method delivers when it is applied over several months.
- CombiBoiler.ca reached a 300% ROI and more than 300 enquiries a month.
- Roma Heating & Cooling grew its organic traffic by 400% in 12 months.
- BCWide.ca tripled its enquiries in 90 days.
The Results page explains what carries over to a Montréal business, and what doesn't.
Who we are
MontrealBusiness.ca is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. It is a Canadian company, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA (Technology Management), whose career in marketing and growth began in 2007, more than 17 years ago. He has built more than 150 live websites for HVAC companies and has clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai.
We meet you in person or by video call, and also work by phone, text and email. To learn more about how we work, read the About page. The group's broader consulting is presented on BusinessConsulting.ca and Sedighi.ca.
Where we work
We serve businesses selling anywhere in the Ville de Montréal and its 19 boroughs, from Ahuntsic-Cartierville to Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, as well as the agglomeration's reconstituted municipalities such as Westmount, Mont-Royal and Pointe-Claire. The Coverage page describes each area and what it changes for your marketing.
How to get started
The simplest way is to reach us by phone, text or email with three pieces of information: what you sell, where your customers are and what you want to change within a year. The initial 30-minute consultation is free, with no obligation. You'll find our hours and what happens next on the Contact page, and our price ranges on the Pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly is MontrealBusiness.ca?
MontrealBusiness.ca is a Canadian business consulting and marketing service, part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA. We help businesses that sell in Montréal shape their growth strategy and communicate in French first.
Do you have an office in Montréal?
No. The company is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we don't claim a Montréal office. Consultations still happen in person or by video call, as well as by phone, text and email.
Are meetings held in French?
Our written materials (plans, reports, website copy) are produced in French. The language of meetings is confirmed with you when you first get in touch, so expectations are clear from the start.
How much does working with you cost?
Hourly consulting runs $175 to $350 an hour, projects $3,500 to $25,000 and monthly retainers $2,500 to $12,000 a month, plus 5% GST and 9.975% QST. The Pricing page explains what moves the price.
Can you tell us whether our signage complies with the Charter of the French Language?
No. We don't give legal advice and we don't carry out compliance checks. We summarise the rules the OQLF publishes and design French-first marketing; for a compliance question, contact the OQLF or a lawyer.
Do your results come from Montréal businesses?
The figures we publish are results from our HVAC work (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), mostly in British Columbia and Ontario. We present them as proof of method, not as results achieved in Montréal.
